The opening shots are of the girl on a swing, this is to show her in a typically fun and happy environment to contrast the sinister events which follow. These shots will also be slowed down to create more tension and make the audience uneasy of what's to follow. The soundtrack for these will be piano based possibly a nursery rhyme played slowly to show connections with the child but will also be quite unsettling. After these establishing shots we will cut to the chase sequence with a drum-based soundtrack

The shots of the chase sequence will be handheld to increase the chaotic nature of the chase, these will also all be point of view and not show the attacker as we want to keep their identity hidden, creating an enigma code. The third shot will be a long shot in which the girl will look around for her attacker, creating the sense that the attacker is watching her. The last shot is slightly experimental as it is a circular tracking shot and is also low angle which would usually denote power. However, in this scenario we will use it to show the girls scared expression and therefore it will not make her look like the stronger character.

Then we will cut to black and fade up to a shot of the girl dead on the floor, by not showing the attack we leave it a mystery as to how she was killed and we also dont have to show any of the attacker which we might if we showed the attack. We will then cut to a new location with a shot of the mother waking up, at this point the audience should make the connection between the mother and girl so we may include a photograph of the girl in the mothers room to show this. The mother will wake up panicked as if from a nightmare and run to the childs room to check if she is alright.

The mother will then get to the bedroom to find it empty leading the audience to think the earlier sequence was not actually a dream, then we will end with a shot of the mothers face to show her emotions and cut to titles. This will leave the audience shocked and curious as to what happened to the child, building tension for the rest of the film.
